The Dragon Staff

Wow. Where to begin? ::eyeshift::
Well, you see I had this (raccoon?) skull in my bone bin, and it was gnawed up to no end. Also the jugal and squamosal bones were broken on one side. I suddenly decided to make it into a dragon skull. Why? Noone knows.
I used wood paste and bamboo skewers to replace the broken bone and broke off the other side and did the same to make it the same. I also used the bamboo skewers to form the horns. I filled in any gnawed areas and generally formed it to look like a dragon. ::sigh:: I'm a dork.
So then months later, I decided I wanted a whole staff so that I could take it to the celtic festival if I so wished. Had a large dowel, so I went from there. The skeleton has vertebrae on a cord. Most are turkey. The arms are leg boned and the fingers are ribs. I bore holes in all of these things and strung them together on wire. I had to use beads as spacers between fingers. The joints were covered in glue and copy paper strips. It was painted probsbly ten times over with different washes and colors. I then soaked tissue paper in glue and recovered the joints to look a bit more natural and like hide. i had to also put wax on the tissue to stiffen it up. The whole thing is put on with a series of small wire and hemp cord. I did up some beads and grabbed some feathers to put on. There is a cord made of acrylic hair wrapped around on one spot. The painted design of the staff has stripes and triquetra....etc.
And now.... I'm tired.
